Penang will host the first ever Halal food and Heritage event, the inaugural Penang International Halal Food & Heritage Festival (PIH2F), taking place in Padang Kota, Georgetown over the weekend of 17-18 December 2022, to be officiated by YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, accompanied by YB Dato Abdul Halim Hussain, Penang State Exco for Trade, Industry and Entrepreneur Development and Chairman of PHI. The last day of the Festival will include TYT Tun Ahmad Fuzi for a special walkabout tour of the Festival at 10pm before the World Cup Final screening at 11pm at Padang Kota.

PIH2F will be organised by Penang Halal International (PHI), bringing together an eclectic mix of regional foods from countries such as Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Bangladesh, cooking demonstrations from famous chefs such as Chef Wan, Chef Aini, Chef Fikree, and cultural performances of some of the oldest traditions of Malaysia, as well as Penang’s best foods.

Visitors will get a chance to learn cooking tips from some of the most famous chefs in Malaysia, and be mesmerised by traditional performances such as the Ghazal, Zapin and Boria, and many local talents in Malaysia. It will be a weekend to remember for those wanting to experience a full immersion of cultural heritage and amazing regional foods in one of the most popular venues in Penang, the Padang Kota from 4-11pm on both days.
